Read this before you buy: it weighs 383 lbs
Freestanding does not mean lightweight. The base is deliberately heavy so the unit cannot tip, and it rolls on wheels across a flat, solid surface. It is not something you carry, and it does not go up or down steps without proper equipment and more than one person.
If you need something you can genuinely lift and move around, this is not it. Say so on the phone and we will point you elsewhere rather than sell you a problem.

It works where a gas heater cannot
Electric infrared produces no combustion byproducts, so there is no ventilation requirement. That makes it the option for a screened porch, a three-season room or an enclosed patio, where a gas heater needs a quarter of the wall volume left open.
It is also the more reliable choice on a windy site, because there is no pilot flame to blow out.
Heat and light, controlled separately
The Eclipse Dimmer Controller and wireless remote come in the box, so there is nothing else to buy. Heat runs at 33, 66 or 100 percent. The LED dims from 50 to 100 percent on the presets, then in 1 percent steps on the remote.
It is also app enabled through the Bromic app once connected, if you would rather control it from your phone.
Keep it under cover
Water resistant, not waterproof. Bromic recommends against leaving it out in the elements. Under a pergola, a covered patio or a porch roof is ideal, and it should come inside or under cover for winter.
